Impact Kids After School Program

To help serve families in our community and address the educational needs of our kids, we provide an after school program for K-6th grade students at Hawthorne Elementary School. Our program runs Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 5:30 and starts with a healthy snack, then goes into an engaging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) class that this fall is focusing on a LEGO Robotics program. From there our kids, get focused reading tutoring with Reading Partners as well as homework tutoring with our StreetLeaders, volunteers and staff. The after school program days wrap up with spiritual/character development and a full meal.

Volunteer Tutors

MPACT Kids volunteers typically serve at one or two days a week for a couple hours. This is a huge help to us! It is a great opportunity to develop relationships with our kids and encourage them to be all that God created them to be! Our greatest need right now is to have volunteers who can help during the STEM teaching time before our StreetLeaders arrive between 3:00 and 4:00.

If you are interested in volunteering with the IMPACT Kids After School Program, please apply online or contact IMPACT Kids Director, Leah Pickard.

All volunteers are required to pass a criminal background check and complete the IMPACT Kids Volunteer Training.

Impact Kids Summer Day Camp

Similar to the after school program, our summer day camp serves K-6th grade students at Hawthorne Elementary School and kids involved with Crossover Sports Association. It runs 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Thursday during the summer weeks it is in session.

The program combines athletic and sports skill development, math and reading tutoring, a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) project, which this year will be building portable solar lights for kids in Haiti, and worship, skits/mimes and Bible teaching time led by partner church youth groups. Youth group kids pair up with our StreetLeaders to work with our elementary age kids throughout the week. If you have a church youth group interested in serving and making an impact in our community, please contact our Executive Director, Justin Pickard.
