Restoring our community through economic and housing development.
Crossover Development Company
Mission Statement
Economic Development
When we started CDC, an economic gap analysis/leakage study for north Tulsa showed that roughly $250 million leaves north Tulsa every year. This lack of capturing and turning dollars over in our community contributes to the 9% unemployment rate and 49% of residents not in the labor force.
To help address this lack of services and quality jobs, CDC pursues economic development projects, workforce development through the creation of construction jobs, and entrepreneurial support. CDC is working to develop its first mixed use development on CCI’s land at 36th St. N. and Peoria Ave. This will have 7 commercial spaces with 3 market rate and 9 affordable housing units. Local entrepreneurs will be supported and/or trained to develop businesses in these commercial spaces.
CDC also utilizes retail and housing construction projects to create jobs in our community. CDC utilizes the NCCER carpentry educational curriculum to train CDC’s construction employees. NCCER carpentry certification is a nationally recognized certification that employees can use to demonstrate their carpentry skills and obtain higher pay, so CDC offers this training as a benefit to employees.
Housing Development
CDC revitalizes housing in the Hawthorne Neighborhood by purchasing and remodeling, vacant houses as well as building new homes. CDC helps families in our community own their own home, as well as addresses the need for homes for families who wish to return or relocate to our community.
If you are interested in purchasing one of our upcoming remodeled homes, please fill out this application.
If you are interested in having CDC build a new home or any other questions, please contact Justin Pickard here.
